NZ staff is proud to announce the introduction of the NZ pilot-training days. Every Sunday morning from 09.00 local NZ time you have the possibility to take pilot training. In the schedule below you will find different kind of levels of training.
You can request training the way it suits you best, i.e. base principals of flying 'till more advanced procedures. So. if you wish to prepare for a planned or upcoming exam or just want to expand your pilot skills, now comes the opportunity to do so.
Important thing to take into account is that pilot training does not cover aircraft handling but procedures and procedures only.
LEVEL A - covers
VFR
A1. Flight plan and Radiotelephony
A2. VFR Departure procedures
A3. VFR Arrival procedures
A4. Traffic patterns
LEVEL B - covers IFR
B1. Flight plan and Radiotelephony
B2. IFR Departure procedures (SID)
B3. IFR Arrival procedures (STAR)
B4. Approach procedures (ILS, ILS/DME, VOR, VOR/DME, NDB, NDB/DME, VISUAL)
B5. Missed approach procedure
B6. Circling approach procedure
B7. Touch and Go procedure
B8. Holding and Holding-entry procedure
B9. IFR en route
B0. VOR (DME), NDB navigation, intercepting radials etc
For example, if you wish to train IFR arrival and missed approach procedures you can request training at nz-tac@ivao.aero and point the numbers from the schedule and which Sunday you wish to take the training. (In this case B3, B5)
All pilot training in New Zealand will take place at Wellington Airport (NZWN). Please make sure you have all charts ready and like an exam, pick an aircraft you are familiar with as well as one that suits the exercise.

Note: If no training is requested, training staff will still be on line as observer every Sunday morning for at least 1 hour!!!
